Choose & Trial Implement AT Monitor Progress


When the AT has been chosen and implemented, you, your colleagues, the student, and his/her family have invested much time and effort. Has the hard work paid off? Has your student achieved higher levels of performance and independence with the AT than without? To answer these questions, analyze AT data collected over time. The results of this data provides the information the IEP team needs to make AT recommendations.

Benefits of the AT Cycle Monitor Progress Phase:
  • Generates quantitative data collected over time to document the AT's impact and implementation
  • Provides a rationale for current and future AT decisions
  • Leads to better developed IEPs because decisions are based on evaluation results
  • Yields information that could be generalized to similar situations or applied to school- or system-wide funding, purchasing, and professional development decisions.
